How Pind Daan is Performed at Gaya Ji - the Complete Picture
Pind Daan and Shradh Karma at Gaya Ji follow a well-organised, scripturally grounded process, which the Goswami family explains and performs for Yajmans with generations of experience. Below is a summary of the whole process, so you can plan your journey with confidence.
Contact us by phone or WhatsApp before your journey. We will guide you on a suitable date, the rite you need (Pind Daan, Tripindi Shradh, Narayan Bali, etc.) and accommodation arrangements.
On reaching Gaya, come directly to Goswami Bhawan, Panchmahalla. Be careful of touts at the station and along the way - we ourselves will stay in direct contact with you.
The Purohit has the Yajman take the Sankalp, in which the Yajman's name, Gotra and purpose are stated aloud. This is considered the foundation of the whole rite.
The materials required for Pind Daan and Tarpan (barley flour, sesame seeds, Kusha grass, flowers, Ganga water, etc.) are arranged by Goswami Bhawan itself.
Pind Daan and Tarpan are performed with scriptural Mantra chanting at the Vishnupad Temple and the bank of the Falgu river. Pind Daan is also performed at the Akshaya Vat where required.
If Pitru Dosh removal or a rite related to an untimely death is required, Tripindi Shradh and Narayan Bali Puja are performed with additional ritual procedure.
The rite concludes with Brahmin Bhoj, considered an essential final step of the ritual. The Yajman family then receives blessings along with the Purnahuti.
Please be sure to contact us by phone before you arrive. Be careful of touts near the station and along the way.
