Pind Daan and Tarpan

Pind Daan is the most important rite performed at Gaya Ji, through which ancestors attain moksha and peace. Along with Pind Daan at the Vishnupad and Falgu banks, Tarpan (offering of water) is made to gods, sages and ancestors, freeing the family from the Pitru Rin (ancestral debt). The scriptures describe three debts - to the gods, to the sages, and to one's ancestors - and Shradh performed at Gaya is considered capable of freeing a family from the ancestral debt.

  • Rites performed at Vishnupad Temple and the Falgu bank
  • Fulfilment and moksha for ancestors
  • Includes Tarpan for gods, sages and ancestors

Tripindi Shradh

Tripindi Shradh is performed to help a soul move from the Pret Yoni into the Pitru Yoni. It is performed specifically for the fulfilment of ancestors across three generations (father, grandfather, great-grandfather) and for removing Pitru Dosh. For families facing obstacles due to Pitru Dosh, or where the date or cause of an ancestor's death is unknown, this rite is considered especially beneficial.

This puja is especially recommended for families whose astrologer has identified Pitru Dosh in their horoscope.
